The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea
In a beautiful pea-green boat,
They took some honey, and plenty of money,
Wrapped up in a five pound note.
The Owl looked up to the stars above,

“Dear Pig, are you willing to sell for one shilling your ring?”
Said the Piggy, “I will”
So they took it away, and were married next day
By the Turkey who lives on the hill.
They dined on mince, and slices of quince,
Which they ate with a runcible spoon.
And hand in hand, on the edge of the sand.
They danced by the light of the moon, the moon, the moon,

No presépio vivo, as ovelhas comem e bufam ao pé do burro e de um menino Jesus de plástico.

Na avenida do liceu, as árvores despiram-se das luzes (não há dinheiro, não há dinheiro…)

Nas magníficas casas abandonadas de Castelo Branco já não passam natais nem anos novos.

No madeiro do Cansado teremos chouriças e bailaricos.

Na noite de 25, jantaremos enchidos grelhados no madeiro da Sé, regados a vinho tinto e acamados em pão da beira baixa.

No madeiro do Espírito Santo estarão os velhos mais bebidos e as velhas enlouquecidas.

A missa do galo é na Sé à meia noite, para quem tem alma de bicho bicado.

No fogão da avó Amélia já não se cozinham bacalhaus nem perus.

A Isabel já não tem um ano. O Natal albicastrense nem sempre tem Isabel. Ano ímpar, Isabel no norte inglês. Ainda bem que existem iPads!
